Historically ran as a 500 pair livestock operation with hay production averaging 3,000 tons per year based on two cuttings

per year. Ranch has both BLM livestock permits for 400 pair, turnout is May 16th thru June 15th (sometimes longer) &

National Forest livestock permit (25,000 +/- acres) for 425 pair – turnout is June 16th thru Oct. 15th. The BLM permit adjoins

the deeded lands, plus the BLM permit also adjoins the National Forest permit which allows the cows to drift from the BLM

permit onto the National Forest Permit. Stirrup Bar Ranch is the sole owner/user for these livestock permits. Cows are trailed back to base ranch around the end of November. Hunting/Fishing: This beautiful ranch provides excellent wildlife habitat for trophy elk, mule deer, black bear, mountain lion, turkey & small game. The ranch is located in Game Management Hunt Unit 63 – renowned for its trophy mule deer & excellent elk hunting. In addition to the deeded lands – you can easily access the adjoining BLM & National Forest lands for thousands of acres of additional recreational/hunting/fishing opportunities. Excellent trout fishing is available on both Crystal & Dyer Creeks which traverse the mountain deeded lands. The base ranch parcel (2,541 +/- acres) is located on the south end of Fruitland Mesa at the junction of Hwy. 92 & B80 Road. Elevations range from 6,700’ to 7,300’ feet. The mountain irrigated parcel (603+/- acres) is located just North of the Crystal Valley near the junction of Hwy. 92 & J82 Rd. – a.k.a. Crystal Creek Rd.- with elevations at 8,000 feet. The Crystal Creek Mtn. parcel (815 +/- acres), with elevation from 8,100’ to 8,500’, is located 1.5 miles east of the 603 +/- acre parcel on J82 Rd. a.k.a. Crystal Creek Rd.. The climate at Maher/Crystal Creek is typical for the Rocky Mountains. The area climate is a “four-season” experience with lots of blue skies and sunshine filled days. The average high/low temperatures for July are 91.6/55.5° and for January 36.1/11.2°. Annual precipitation is on average 10.85 in. of rain and 39.5 inches of snow.
